What's new
2026-07-22: A changelog, a feedback button, and a clearer theme switch
Three small things:
- This page! The full history of changes now lives here instead of an ever-growing box on the front page, which now just shows the latest few.
- A little thumbs up/down in the top corner so you can tell me what you think of the recent changes with one click. Totally anonymous, just two counters.
- The dark/light switch now says "Theme" so it is actually findable, and auto-detect now recognises Visual Basic and VB.NET pastes.
2026-07-20: Popular languages page and a privacy note
Added a
popular languages page showing what people highlight here most, over the last day through to a year. The counters are completely anonymous (one number per language per day, nothing else), and the same page now carries a proper
privacy note spelling out exactly what this site does and does not keep. Also a round of polish: rounded corners on the inputs, better spacing, a character and line counter, and the two info panels tidied up.
2026-07-19: Output formats, dark mode, and phone support
The promised UI work has started landing:
- New output formats! After highlighting, tabs above the HTML Code box give you HTML with CSS classes, BBCode for forums, Markdown, and proper RTF (with a download button) for Word and friends. The old panes and buttons are all exactly where they were.
- Dark mode. Follows your system setting, or use the toggle in the top corner.
- The site now works properly on phones, the changelog is tidier, and things are faster again under the hood thanks to some caching added last week.
- Renamed the "Highlighted RTF" pane to "Styled preview", since that is what it always was; actual RTF now comes from the RTF tab.
More polish to come. Anything odd,
let me know.
